Fenty Fashion House, the fashion brand owned by singer Rihanna, will be put on pause indefinitely after nearly two years, representatives of LVMH announced. Her beauty and skincare lines, Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin, will still continue, as well as her lingerie brand Savage x Fenty.
Rihanna‘s clothing brand is suspended indefinitely, announced the luxury conglomerate LVMH according to CNN. Fenty Fashion House was launched in 2019 and it made history at the time because it was the first luxury clothing line run by a black woman. After nearly two years, it is being shut down indefinitely. LVMH stated it was a joint decision and that they will continue supporting Rihanna’s other brands, according to the same source.

There is no secret that the pandemic has taken a toll on the fashion industry, although the market in China is actually growing. It was not specified the exact reason why the ready-to-wear line is being paused indefinitely, but Rihanna will continue managing her other businesses. Her beauty and skincare line, Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin are very well received, and especially her lingerie line Savage x Fenty is considered a huge success. The latter one has promoted acceptance and inclusion from day 1, and its ad campaigns and collections are designed to address all skin types and all body sizes.
This decision does not mean that Fenty is officially closed, but that they will no longer design any new collections any time soon. The last post on Fenty‘s Instagram post was on January 1, and its very last collection was launched in November 2020. Rihanna still remains part of luxury conglomerate LVMH, along with brands like Louis Vuitton and Dior.
