Their owners are mostly royal families’ members, billionaires or businessmen and they all ordered the new opulent acquisitions according to their own preferences and necessities.

6. AL SAID – $300 MILLION
Al Said is a dazzling super yacht, delivered in 2008 to the ex Sultan of Oman, Sultan Qaboos bin Said. It was built by the German manufacturer Lürssen and it has a 500 feet length. The ship can host up to 70 guests and a rather unusual feature is that it reportedly has a concert hall, accommodating a 50-piece orchestra. The yacht’s initial name was “Project Sunflower” .
5. DUBAI – $400 MILLION
The Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates owns this gorgeous vessel. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and he purchased it in 2006. Its cost is estimated at around $400 million and it was designed by the German companies Blohm+Voss and Lürssen. It definitely offers a deluxe accommodation on its seven decks, six guest suites, and five VIP suites. It provides also a heliport, swimming pool, barbecue area, cinema and a disco club.
4. MOTOR YACHT A – $440 MILLION
This Blohm+Voss shipyard is 400 feet long and can accommodate 14 guests and 42 crew members. The Motor Yacht A was constructed by Martin Francis and designed by Phillippe Stark. It has a master bedroom and a disco, and, right above the disco, there is a glass bottomed swimming pool. There are another 2 pools on the yacht, and the six guest suites have moving walls. This superb yacht offers also a helicopter hangar, and a 30 feet speedboat. It is owned by Russian tycoon Andrey Melnichenko and it is estimated at $440 million.
3. AZZAM – $600 MILLION
Azzam is currently one of the most complex and impressive super yachts that were ever built. It was designed by the German company Lürssen Yachts in 2013 and most definitely it was the most laborious project they have every worked on. 4.000 people have worked for over four years to complete this masterpiece. Azzam is the proud owner of the title “the second longest private motor yacht in the world”, with 590 feet length. Its net worth was estimated at the breathtaking amount of $600 million. Who ordered it? Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the current President of the United Arab Emirates. Only to maintain it in a proper condition, the owner has to spend $60 million each year. When it sails, Azzam needs 60 crew members to keep it up and running, and another 36 guests can be accommodated on board. Not much is known about the interior, just that it was designed by a French designer, Christophe Leoni, and that everything is the ultimate top in luxury.
2. ECLIPSE – $1.5 BILLION
We couldn’t create this list without including the astonishing mega yacht of Roman Abramovich’s: Eclipse. Although, it is on the second place, it was for many years on top of the list, but it still is the most exquisite and sophisticated. Its price tag? $1.5 billion. It was delivered to the owner in 2010 by the German company Blohm+Voss. Eclipse has nine decks, all packed with luxurious and posh items and amenities. Each deck is designed for something special: the top deck stands for a heliport and a garage. On deck number eight, we can find the swimming pool and sundeck, and the cabin and the suites are found on deck number three. What is peculiar about this yacht is that privacy was at the top of Abramovich’s priorities: bulletproof glass, motion sensors, armor plating etc.
1. HISTORY SUPREME – $4.8 BILLION
History Supreme is the most expensive yacht ever sold. It seems it was bought by Robert Kuok, a Malaysian businessman, for the whooping price of $4.8 billion. The purchase was made in 2011 and some still doubt of the value of this particular ship. You wonder probably why it cost so much… Well, let’s put it this way: it is basically a floating golden boat. That’s right. The mega yacht is covered in gold and platinum and it seems that over 100,000 kilograms were used in constructing this royalty machine, over the course of three years, Besides the extreme luxury interior design, the most extravagant element of them all is the master bedroom, which has a wall made of meteorite rock and – pay attention – a statue designed with real Tyrannosaurus Rex bones. Yes, that only the super rich could have thought of something like this.
